The new Montezuma-Cortez High School is a 152,000 SF two story building with a 30-acre site development. The new school includes specialized Career and Technical Education (CTE) Classrooms that enable hands-on instruction for their culinary arts, journalism, agriculture, fire science, band, choir, drama, and art programs.

The building is LEED® certified Gold, utilizing geothermal/ground source heat pump system, photovoltaic panels, water-conserving plumbing fixtures and landscaping to provide energy savings for the life of the building. Within the first year of operation, the school saved more energy than 89 percent of similar schools in the country.

The project was delivered utilizing four bid packages to fast-track the construction schedule. Through Nunn’s extensive preconstruction services, the project design was coordinated with the available construction budget without requiring major re-design time lost during preconstruction.
