World Compass Academy Topping Out Celebration

Nunn Construction is full steam ahead on the Middle School addition project at World Compass Academy in Castle Rock, CO. On Friday, February 9th, a milestone was reached on the construction of the new addition. It was a mild winter afternoon as the students filed outside and waited in anticipation for the final steel beam of the middle school to be raised. Students cheered and applauded in excitement as they watched the beam, which they had signed earlier that day, raise high into the sky. Once anchored into place, Nunn Construction continued the celebration by grilling burgers and wings for teachers, parents and construction workers.

Nunn, working with RTA Architects and Vanir Construction Management, broke ground on the 27,900 sq.ft addition for the charter school in November 2017 and expect substantial completion in August 2018. The addition will double the square footage for the WCA 5-8th grade Middle School program, creating a new two story facility which will be connected to the existing school by a breezeway. The building will increase the school’s musical ensemble extracurricular program in addition to a new art room with a kiln, administrative space, and instructional space with a science lab.
