Woodman Hall, a 1905 designated historical landmark building in downtown Fountain, CO has long served the community in various capacities—including as a general store, post office, movie theatre, and roller rink—and today stands as a symbol of the city’s cultural legacy.

This historical renovation was multi-phased in an occupied site, which included updates to the main level Grand Hall, with major improvements including façade enhancements, the addition of two new storefronts with architectural canopies, and extensive interior renovations. Along with these updates, Nunn completed HVAC upgrades, added a new fire suppression system, thermal insulation improvements, and structural reinforcement to improve safety and efficiency throughout the building.

Along with improvements to the Grand Hall, Nunn upgraded the second floor including the remodel of tenant kitchens and restrooms along with mechanical and utility upgrades. This active, occupied environment—home to a yoga studio and massage lounge—has required tight coordination, noise mitigation, and rigorous site cleanliness, especially in shared spaces.

Additional design details include enhancements to the building’s interior and exterior staircases, including beadboard finishes, transom window additions, and repainting. Working alongside the Fountain Urban Renewal Authority (FURA) and TDG Project Studio, Nunn Construction balanced the challenges of historic preservation with modern building performance, contributing to a larger downtown revitalization effort in Fountain.

This project reflects Nunn’s continued commitment to community-centered construction—preserving local heritage while building for the future.
