The existing kitchen and laundry room had seen better days at the Fremont County Detention Center in Canon City, CO. Over a four month construction period, Nunn completed a full demolition and remodel of the 5,450 sq. ft. space. Once the demolition was complete, new underground utilities were installed, new structural fill was completed, and interior concrete slabs were poured. Nunn built new interior CMU walls as well as new exterior CMU walls with steel joists and a steel deck, creating a larger and improved laundry room. All new stainless steel kitchen equipment, laundry machines, and HVAC units were installed. We also tore off and replaced the existing roof on the building.

Upon completion, the facility will serve 600 meals a day and provide laundry services for all 230 inmates. Kitchen and laundry services were relocated off-site while the project was under construction.
