Inspiring a deep sense of hope for our neighbors in need, Nunn Construction built the Springs Rescue Mission’s new resource center and year-round shelter, focusing on the men and women in our community that need these spaces to survive.

A first of its kind in El Paso County, the year round low-barrier shelter opened in November 2017 and serves 200-300 people a night depending on weather. The Resource Center opened in two phases in 2017 and provides showers, a communal gathering space, computer access, laundry facilities, and permanent office space for partner agencies.

Due to a tight and consistently active campus, our construction team focused on clearly identifying site boundaries and maintaining site access while keeping the community a safe distance from construction activities. Nunn worked closely with the Owner, City of Colorado Springs, and RTA Architects to maximize every dollar spent. We fluidly worked together to price and add scope into the project as additional funding was secured.
