This project is a 43,000 sq.ft. LEED Gold Office Building that houses multiple colleges on the campus. Through an integrated delivery method, our team worked closely with the Architect to produce the design and budget accordingly. The five story academic building features high efficiency mechanical and electrical systems, extensive day lighting, collaborative learning spaces, faculty offices, large conference rooms and an incredible rooftop patio.

During the design phase, our team accommodated UCCS’ request to add a fifth floor to the structure while maintaining a design schedule that allowed construction to be complete per the original schedule requirements. We supported the design effort with timely and accurate cost estimating, with the result that UCCS was able to buy back all of the Bid Alternates.

This project was completed on a very tight building site adjacent to the main entry to campus. The new office building is now the “Gateway Building” to the UCCS campus.

  • LEED© Certified Gold
  • “The Gateway” to the fastest growing University in the region
  • 1.6 Acre Site with major Thoroughfare to the South
  • Clerestory Windows Bring Daylight into all Interior Offices and Work Rooms
  • Water Savings of 40% Over the LEED Baseline
“The close and effective collaboration between Nunn and HCM allowed construction to move forward early in the design phases. This close collaboration also brought the Nunn Construction Team much closer to the design process, hence their understanding of design intent was much higher than typical.”
Gary Reynolds Executive Director - UCCS
